Home Stutter To Stalemate Wth Woodlands

The scoreline was not reflective of game’s intensity, as fans were constantly kept on the edge of their seats as Woodlands Wellington held title-chasing Home United to a goalless draw at the Bishan Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Woodlands were the ones who were presented with the first opportunity of the game as Chang Jo Yoon’s effort from eight yards out in the eighth minute was saved by Shahril Jantan’s legs after the custodian stumbled upon an initial indirect free-kick.

Salim’s Magical Touch Revives Rams

Warriors FC failed to leapfrog Tampines Rovers into second place and close down the gap on Brunei DPMM after their latest 1-0 loss to Woodlands Wellington allowed newly-appointed coach Salim Moin to make a winning return to the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League.

Former Warriors defender Bah Mamadou grabbed the only goal of the match and destroyed the Warriors’ chances of chasing down the league leaders with a second-half goal.

Resilient Rams Hold Cheetahs To Four Goal Thriller [22/02/2014]



Hougang United and Woodlands Wellington contested in a tight affair which ended 2-2.to open their Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League 2014 campaign at the Hougang Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Cheetahs took the lead twice but a stubborn Woodlands side were never easy opponents as they responded with well-deserved equalisers.

Hougang drew first blood in the 17th minutes when a deep Fazli Jaffar cross from the left was headed in by defender Igor Cerina.

However, the Rams were not fazed by the goal and got the equaliser seven minutes later through debutant Taufiq Ghani.

Following Woodlands Wellington’s 2-2 draw with Hougang United in the season opener, Woodlands head coach Darren Stewart admitted that his opponents were unlucky not to have claimed three points.

“Hougang is a very good team. They are just unlucky. I wouldn’t say that we played very well and the result being a draw is very fair for us”, Stewart told the press.

“I feel superb gaining one point in this game because Hougang is team with a great bunch of players. Not many teams can come here to get points.”

Woodlands Denied Victory by Defiant Jaguars



No soul left the Jalan Besar stadium in an estatical mood on Friday night as this season’s two surprise packages Woodlands Wellington and Tanjong Pagar United shared the spoils of an intriguing match which ended 2-2.

Despite having to wait for some time before settling into the game and allowing Tanjong Pagar to have their chances at goal, like Asraf Rashid’s long range driller which was punched away by Yazid Yasin, Woodlands were the ones who were put on the driving seat with already their first real opportunity in the 27th minute.

Jaguars Deny Rams Victory In Thriller



Woodlands Wellington and Tanjong Pagar United played out a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday evening in a goal fest for both the crowd and those watching on television back home.

The Jaguars had to fight back from a goal down twice to claim a hard-earned point as Woodlands' Korean duo Moon Soon-ho and Chang Jo Yoon ran riot to score a goal each.
